Week of Oct 9 - another week of vacation - potential leftovers?

Sunday - honey garlic sausage, cabbage, rice noodles, tamarind dressing, fried onions

Actual: the tamarind dressing was a bit too thin, and the liquid from the noodles and cooking the cabbage probably exacerbated that, but the sausage was well received

Monday - Thanksgiving

Tuesday - roast sweet potato home fries, eggs, tomato jam, stuffing panko-crusted cauliflower cheese croquettes, harissa-mayo dipping sauce

Actual: pretty good, the mix was a bit wet, but the panko helped to have a crisp outside and contrast

Wednesday (lunch) - roast turkey, tomato jam, bacon, cheese sandwiches

Actual: didn't bother to make bacon, just had the turkey/tomato/cheddar on toast and took it with us for a nice walk. Good way to start moving through the leftover turkey.

Wednesday (dinner) - panko crusted salmon cakes with mashed potato, corn and chipotle. roasted bell peppers, shishito peppers

Actual: a very easy way to use up some of the mashed potato and peppers from Thanksgiving

Thursday (lunch) - soy-mirin green beans and almonds, shishito peppers with furiyaki, thinly sliced steak, rice

Thursday (dinner) - okonomiyaki braised short ribs, brussel sprouts, mashed potato, bread

Actual: leftover oatmeal stout from last night, a cup of onion soup that didn't have many onions in them, a bit of a romano pecorino rind, and the last of the mashed potato from Thanksgiving. Forgot to add bay leaves and probably could have added a tad more salt, but overall it was a very nice piece of meat.

Friday (lunch) - butter chicken, rice

Actual: as per plan. there was a lot of discount chicken to freeze, and I decided to hold back the tenders for butter chicken (pulling a cup of sauce from the freezer)

Friday (dinner) - tacos steak, bell peppers, shishito peppers, green beans, rice

Actual: not quite as good as Thursday lunch, not sure what I did differently. At least one of those peppers was unexpectedly hot

Saturday -  zucchini, corn, salmon fritters turkey poutine on sweet potato home fries

Actual: bought actual cheese curds which squeaked nicely, and added a quick fried onion, lemon-caper dressing which really elevated the whole thing to not just be turkey and gravy on potato
